The competencies address the identification of the characteristics of conditions such as dyslexia, implementation of evidence-based classroom instruction and interventions, including evidence-based reading instruction and interventions specifically for students with characteristics of dyslexia, and effective progress monitoring. The Florida Reading Endorsement Competencies are aligned with evidence-based instructional and intervention strategies grounded in the science of reading. Completion requirements for each endorsement program are set forth below.ĭue to budgetary constraints, educators who wish to register for one of the limited online Endorsement courses must meet at least one of the requirements listed below at the time of registration: Courses are offered face-to-face and hybrid to fulfill the requirements for the Autism Endorsement and Driver Education Endorsement.Įducators may also complete endorsement requirements through college/university coursework that demonstrates alignment with the state requirements. Professional Development offers face-to-face, hybrid, and online endorsement courses to fulfill requirements for the Reading, ESOL Gifted Endorsements, and the Athletic Coaching Certificate. Educators may be required to add an endorsement to their certificates in order to meet federal and state requirements.
